Modern function. Historic character. This hall bathroom in a historic St. Elmo home in Columbus, Georgia was taken down to the studs and completely rebuilt while respecting the character of the home. Years of settling had left the floors and ceilings uneven, so we started by leveling everything to create clean, crisp lines throughout the space. From there, we installed all new drywall, fresh paint, classic wainscoting, a patterned tile floor, updated lighting, and matte black fixtures to give the room a timeless look that feels right at home in a historic property. The result is a bathroom that honors the home's past while providing the comfort and quality expected today.

Sometimes the best feature is the one you remove. One of the most unique parts of this historic St. Elmo home was a tiny shower tucked beneath the staircase. While it may have made sense decades ago, it had become an awkward, underused space. Instead of forcing it to remain a shower, we completely reimagined it as a custom built-in storage cabinet. The new design features a handcrafted reclaimed wood countertop and matching floating shelf made from locally sourced reclaimed lumber, creating a warm focal point that blends beautifully with the home's historic character. Great remodeling isn't just about updating finishes. It's about finding better ways for a home to serve the people who live in it while respecting the story the home already has.

"The Burn Unit" — That's the nickname this project earned around the jobsite. After a devastating fire heavily damaged this South Columbus home, we took it all the way back to the studs and started over. What remained wasn't a house. It was a framework and an opportunity to rebuild it better than before. Every major system was replaced, including new plumbing, electrical, HVAC, insulation, drywall, windows, doors, flooring, and architectural shingle roofing. The home also received an all-new kitchen with custom cabinetry, countertops, and appliances. But we didn't stop at restoring what was lost. We improved the home's functionality by adding a second en suite bathroom, giving the homeowners more comfort and value than they had before the fire. Projects like this are a reminder that reconstruction isn't just about replacing materials. It's about helping families move forward after one of the hardest moments they'll ever experience. From fire damage to a fresh start. That's why we do what we do.
